Kleva believes that this is “the best opener in the world.” It is put on those with mobility problems, with the ad saying that it is “good for those with poor joints or arthritis.”
Although it generally created smooth, rounded edges, most of our panel said the handle was rigid, and the pressure to turn was considerable. Some found the handle was uncomfortable and difficult to use (annoyingly shaped like a big “K”).
If you are struggling to open cans, we believe there are much better options available, namely the Culinare Magican Auto Can Opener ($19)

Kleva tells this “perfect slicer” will see you “stop competing with flexible peelers or cheap blades that simply don’t cut!” Our council opposed, finding its performance and user-friendliness no better than a Woolies $2 bog standard: a very poor result for a $10 utensil. Consider the Swivel Peeler Oxo Good Grips ($13), instead.

Claiming to offer the “13 knives at once” performance to create perfect julienne strips, we found that the Kleva Julienne Slicer was even more of a lemon than the Power Peeler. “Produces fewer strips and more pulp. Only useful as a zester,” one panellist reckoned. “Would have also luck including one soup spoon,” different said. A safer bet is Julienne Peeler, an OXO Strong Grips ($5).
